More information about Steiger grain
Our founders developed the recipe for Steiger Korn back in 2016 and have been bottling and distributing it in small batches for family and friends ever since. In this respect, Steiger Korn was Steiger Spirits' first product and is still the pride of all of us. Not for nothing was it awarded DLG Gold and Gold at the International Spirits Award by Meininger Verlag in 2020.
But what actually makes it so special?
The best local wheat and a hint of rye are gently distilled to the satisfaction of our master distiller Dirk. It is the skill and know-how, as well as the state-of-the-art technology used in the process, that makes our Korn so special.
In contrast to commercially available Korn products, Steiger Korn is characterized by a pronounced vanilla in the nose and a mild alcohol note in the finish. This aroma and the mild, pleasant taste allow Steiger Korn to be enjoyed unchilled and pure. See for yourself!

Steiger Spirits
There are certainly more relaxed places to work than being underground. But these special circumstances have an impressive effect on the people who risk or have risked their lives in mining every day: 1,000 meters below ground, it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. What matters here is what you can do and that everyone can rely on you. This grueling hard work creates a bond that will last forever. Underground, work colleagues become real buddies. Buddies like Andi and Dirk, who have been getting through all of life's ups and downs together since their school days and like to toast it with a good drop of wine. In 2016, they came up with the idea for Steiger Korn and Steiger Gin: spirits that are based on tradition but still have a special taste and, above all, remain genuine and down-to-earth.
