More information about AboutQuell Brauwerkstätten Original
A lot of thought went into the development of the Überquell brewery's original. Instead of creating a complicated beer with myriad different, interwoven layers of flavor, they wanted to make a beer that tastes good and is simple for a change. Straight forward, so to speak.
The guys from ÜberQuell love beer, you can see and taste that. Their hoppy creations are made in the bosom of a true beer paradise: Brewery, tap room, beer garden and beer experience center in one hoppy magical place. So there's no doubt that the brewers behind ÜberQuell could easily come up with the wackiest beer of all time. But they didn't want to. At least not with the original. The Helle was supposed to be a beer that goes well with pizza from your favorite Italian restaurant and can also sweeten the worst soccer game of all time. Easy going, not too cerebral and still really tasty.
The result is something to be seen - and tasted! ÜberQuell Original flows into the glass in a pale yellow gold color and forms a fluffy, white head. A fine aroma of sun-ripened grain, spicy yeast and slightly grassy, green hops rises from the creamy foam. On the palate, the original is decidedly hoppy. The hops reveal themselves in all their facets on a soft, slightly spicy base of malt and yeast. A subtle, fruity bitterness from the white part of tangy lemon peel joins the aroma of freshly mown grass on the tongue, with a hint of sweetness from lemon candy underpinning the hoppy interplay of flavors.
What can we say? The original from ÜberQuell is exactly what it wants to be: smooth, unagitated and to the point.
