More information about AboutQuell Brauwerkstätten Schubidu Stout
Just in time for the cold season, the ÜberQuell brewery has launched a special treat: a dry stout with the melodious name Schubidu. With an alcohol content of 7.7%, the stout warms you from the inside out and comforts you through the grayest of January days.
Schubidu flows into the glass in a deep black mahogany hue and forms a small, tinted head. The dark, copper shimmering beer smells delightfully of roasted malts, caramel and licorice as it pours. The scent of cookies fresh from the oven and a hint of melt-in-your-mouth chocolate mingle with it, making you eager for the first sip. This reveals an aroma-intensive, full-bodied beer that delights with a palette of dark flavors. Initially, a strong roasted malt flavor hits the tongue: roasted almonds toasted grain and freshly ground coffee caress the palate. The strong first impression is followed by an incredibly smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Melted chocolate and the aroma of freshly baked cookies tickle the taste buds, while a delightful dryness and mild bitterness accompany and complement the interplay of flavors.
Thanks to its rich flavor and luxurious texture, Schubidu is almost a dessert in itself. If you like it sweet, you should try the beer in combination with a chocolate mousse or a brownie. But Irish Stout also makes a good accompaniment to savory dishes. Roasts of all kinds, potato dishes and winter salads are ideal companions to the aroma-intensive beer.

A matter of the heart Even though the guys from St. Pauli have a reputation for being tough guys, there's one thing you can't write off from them: Passion. And that's what makes ÜberQuell a true highlight in Hamburg's culinary landscape.
