More information about Bock Bourbon
The brewers at the Kundmüller brewery in Weiher have come up with something very special to refine their pale doppelbock: After completion, the fine beer is filled into a wooden barrel that previously contained American bourbon Over the years, the wooden barrel has given the bourbon a fine character and at the same time gained flavor itself The brewers use this effect to give their delicious doppelbock that little bit extra The bock is stored in the oak barrel for several months, during which time it matures to its full splendor
The Weiherer Bock in bourbon style flows into the glass in a rich golden hue and shines wonderfully copper-colored when exposed to light A fine, white head sits on the beer and exudes a breathtaking aroma of soft malt, spicy vanilla, gentle smoke and bourbon-soaked wood The first sip presents a full-bodied taste with a strong 8,4% alcohol, which is wonderfully integrated into the diverse layers of flavor Soft, aromatic malt caresses the palate, while the barrel maturation adds warm notes of vanilla, bourbon, buttered popcorn, campfire smoke and spicy oak A fine fruitiness complements the play of aromas, while a subtle bitterness provides sufficient contrast
This barrel-aged beer specialty tastes particularly good from a Bierothek® tasting glass The special shape brings out the fine aroma and brings out every subtle flavor nuance
