More information about Wismarian Arrak
Arrak is a brandy made from rice, sugar cane, special Chinese spices and fermented palm juices. In Hanseatic times, arrack was a valuable commodity.
From the Dutch colony of Batavia (now Indonesia), the "noble brother of rum" also came to Wismar by sea. Today, this noble and rare spirit goes from Wismar out into the world - or at least to many parts of Germany.
Arrak definitely belongs on every well-stocked drinks shelf. Especially if you are well-seasoned spirits and / or without a friend of rum.
