More information about Adler Berlin Dry Gin with wooden gift box

A long-kept secret in Berlin is this exceptionally smooth and harmonious gin from the Preussische Spirituosenmanufaktur, which has been produced according to traditional Prussian ideals since 1874. This place is both a manufactory and a museum. With great meticulousness and passion, a refined recipe and a sophisticated distillation process were developed at the Institute of Gin Making in Berlin, using only the finest, hand-picked raw materials. The guarantee for this highly aromatic product is the very own quality designation Berlin Dry Gin. After very careful processing, the distillate is stored in earthenware barrels for around 3 to 8 months to allow the aromas to blend harmoniously.

The best raw materials, home-made macerates and distillates, elaborate processes, months of resting in earthenware vessels ... the magic is always in the detail.

History: In 1874, a Prussian cabinet order was issued for the establishment of the "Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Spiritusfabrikation" (Experimental and Teaching Institute for Spiritus Production) and entrusted to the chemist Prof. Max Delbrück to set up and manage. The attached training building not only serves to train the next generation of distillers and distillate makers throughout Germany, but also functions as an experimental liqueur factory.

Liqueur and brandy production peaked around 1900 under the name Adler Spirituosen, but came to an abrupt end due to the two world wars and the economic depression in between.
It was not until the 1950s that operations could be resumed under the management of the well-known master distiller Ernst Dobislaw. However, without the state distillery monopoly granted up to that point, PSM was no longer able to build on its earlier successes.

In 2005, Dipl.-Ing. Prof. Dr. Ulf Stahl and Dipl.-Hotelier Gerald Schroff relaunch the traditional Adler brand and finally take over the manufactory completely in 2009. The declared aim is to revive the business and maintain the original guiding principles of the manufactory.

MXPSM
