Caraway has always been a particular specialty from the house of Oechelhaeuser. When the distillery was founded by the Oechelhaeuser family in 1842, surely no one would have guessed that this Siegen specialty would still be so popular 180 years later.
A surprising find was made during excavation work on the Oberstadtbrücke bridge in Siegen. Here, treasures steeped in history came to light, such as old bottles, recipes and other objects from the old distillery. The anniversary Kümmel is also based on an old recipe that was lost for a long time.
With a lot of love, care and craftsmanship, this specialty was brought back to life on the occasion of the 180th anniversary.
