More information about Audemus Umami Gin
Named after the fifth flavor, Audemus Umami Gin is a product of a very special kind. Umami is often translated as hearty or spicy - and this creation is just right.
What does Audemus Umami Gin taste like?
The basic flavor of Umami Gin comes from southern Italian capers, which are sourced directly from a local cooperative. This is joined by fresh and slightly spicy notes that give the gin its very own flavor profile.
Botanicals
In addition to the capers, another ingredient from Italy is used: Parmesan cheese! There is also aromatic juniper and bergamot.
How is Audemus Umami Gin made?
The capers used are vacuum distilled at 45 degrees to preserve the fresh iodine aroma. The distillate is then combined with an infusion of Italian Parmesan cheese, which is rich in glutamate. This molecule is responsible for our tongue's ability to taste umami - and gives Audemus Umami Gin even more flavor.
This is further enhanced by the addition of juniper, two other selected ingredients and a base of neutral grain spirit. The blend is aged for several months in an old cognac barrel.
Alcohol content
Audemus Umami Gin has an alcohol content of 42% by volume.

Audemus Spirits
Audemus develops high-quality spirits that combine modern techniques with traditional methods. The products are made by experienced distillers and blenders in Cognac, France, proudly producing innovative products. The small and fine Audemus distillery is unique in the Cognac region. Here, spirits are not produced by huge, copper beasts in thousands of liters - but just a few liters, which we extract from a small still in distiller Miko's living room. With our vacuum distillation we achieve that the distilled plants do not boil - and thus preserve the freshness of the taste. Convince yourself!
