More information about Bambergator
A sip of Bamberg
Bamberg's strongest beer - at least that's what the long-established Fässla brewery in Bamberg says, which is almost an institution in the cathedral city The brewery with the dwarf in its logo has been brewing beer for more than 350 years and has mastered brewing accordingly well The classic in the range is the Zwergla, but its Pils and the Bambergator are also impressive!
The Doppelbock from the traditional Franconian brewery has a fabulous 8.5% alcohol content and a wonderfully smooth malt character The strong beer is brewed in the bock beer season between October and November, but is available in bottles well beyond this time Fortunately!
The Bambergator flows into the glass in a clear chestnut brown and is crowned with a white head A delicious aroma of rum-soaked raisins, dried apricots and creamy caramel hits your nose as soon as you open the bottle and invites you to take your first sip This reveals a full body that is carried by a fine, tingling carbonic acid The Bambergator is malty on the palate: Notes of freshly baked rye bread meet creamy caramel, candied dark fruit and strong roasted malt The alcohol provides a wonderful warmth that spreads from the mouth right through to the stomach The finish holds a heavy fruit sweetness, balanced by a crisp bitterness
An excellent doppelbock that goes perfectly with Bamberg delicacies such as beer knuckle and Schäuferla!
