More information about Fässla Lagerbier
The Fässla brewery is as much a part of Bamberg's cultural heritage as the cathedral, the Altenburg castle or the magnificent old town with its picturesque half-timbered houses At least that's the opinion of Bambergers and anyone who has ever had the pleasure of tasting the beers from this long-established brewery
The Fässla brewery draws its expertise for outstanding Franconian beer from more than 350 years of brewing history and has recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation of brewers for almost as long The range includes just over a handful of down-to-earth beers that are bursting with history, tradition and flavor The best-known varieties in the selection include the ever-popular Zwergla, but the lager is not to be sneezed at either
The Franconian classic is a bottom-fermented full beer with a palatable 5.5% alcohol content and a full-bodied malty character In the glass, the beer presents itself in a shimmering copper honey tone, a fine, dense-pored and stable foam crowns the handsome drink In the nose, a fine malty aroma of roasted grain makes itself felt, Toffee, freshly baked stone-baked bread and hoppy herbs The first sip is silky-soft and lets the aromas tingle on the tongue thanks to the gentle carbon dioxide The lager tastes of caramel, toasted malt, cookies, honey and flowery hops
