Bodegas Nodus

Bodegas Nodus

The winery Bodegas Nodus is located on an old estate in the hinterland of Valencia. The then dilapidated "Finca el Renegado", located about 600 m above sea level, was taken over in 1985 by Adolfo de las Heras Marín with the aim of producing wines purely ecologically in harmony with nature. At that time, organic viticulture was still in its infancy and was often superficially dismissed as mumbo-jumbo. Adolfo, however, firmly believed in his vision and recognized the incredible potential of the vineyards in this area.

After initial difficulties, the winery made a name for itself with its fantastic wines and achieved great national recognition. Thus, today Adolfo can be considered one of the absolute BIO pioneers of Spanish viticulture. Today, the winery is completely certified organic and owns, in addition to its own vineyards, large areas of the adjacent forests, which are also managed organically. The winery is particularly proud of its Bobal vines, which are over 50 years old and among the oldest in the region. However, a variety of international grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are also grown, which Adolfo deliberately introduced here in view of the Mediterranean climate. Here, too, Adolfo was far ahead of his time.
