More information about Trappistes Rochefort 10
Trappist beers from Belgium are a very special specialty that are protected by a seal of quality. Only a small number of breweries worldwide have the honor of bearing this seal and being allowed to call their beers "Trappist beers". Brasserie Rochefort from Belgium proudly bears the Trappist seal and produces beers that not only taste excellent, but are also the result of a long brewing tradition.
Number 10 from Brasserie Rochefort's traditional range was developed in 1952, when the brewery was modernized and adapted to the standards of commercial breweries. The festive beer was to be given a special character and be different to suit the occasion. Candy sugar was added to the recipe for this purpose. Since then, two different types of malt, a proprietary yeast strain and two different aromatic hops have also been used in the production of Rochefort Trappistes 10.
The unfiltered beer flows into the glass in a deep, dark copper color and forms a small, stable head. A wonderful potpourri of aromas rises from the creamy, hazelnut-brown foam. On the nose, dried, dark fruit, soft caramel and toffee combine to create a seductive mixture that makes you want to take your first sip. On the tongue, the Belgian beer is complex and full-bodied, as the aroma already suggests. Skillfully balanced, rich malt notes and a fine hop bitterness pamper the palate. The 11.3% alcohol content is cleverly integrated into a cornucopia of aroma-intensive flavors.
