More information about Gutmann Dark Hefeweizen
The dark equivalent of the popular pale hefeweizen from Gutmann.
Gutmann's pale wheat beer impresses with its sophisticated range of flavors and the fine, spicy characteristics of a wheat beer. The dark version enriches the classic aroma profile with a whole host of strong roasted aromas.
Gutmann's dark Hefeweizen flows into the glass in a wonderfully deep brown chestnut color and is topped with a handsome crown of lightly tinted, fine-pored foam. The aroma already distinguishes the dark from the light: The roasted malt gives the beer wonderful notes of melt-in-the-mouth caramel, brown sugar and freshly baked sourdough bread. The first taste reveals a strong body and a palette of flavors that follows the olfactory first impression: Sweet and soft, the malt caresses the tongue and serves up an arsenal of roasted malty notes. Creamy caramel meets soft banana, fine yeast, roasted malt and clove. A hint of smoke gives the dark wheat an extra kick. The finish is bitter and beautifully dry.
If you don't necessarily want to eat veal sausage and sweet mustard with your wheat, we recommend a delicious sandwich: a crispy ciabatta roll with rocket pesto, thickly sliced oxheart tomatoes, a few slices of buffalo mozzarella, freshly ground pepper and a drizzle of good olive oil. Served with a well-chilled dark wheat beer. Perfect.
