More information about Aecht Schlenkerla Hell
A very special pale lager is brewed by the traditional Bamberg brewery Schlenkerla, which is actually known for its excellent smoked beer. But the Bamberg brewery can do more than just smoked beer: the pale lager contains none of the highly aromatic smoked malt. Fans of smoked beer will nevertheless enjoy this beer, as it is boiled in the same copper kettles as the smoked beer and is also fermented with the same bottom-fermented yeast strain. The result is a lager with an extraordinary range of flavors and a fantastic hint of smoke.
The special pale lager from Schlenkerla flows into the glass in a clear golden hue and is adorned with a generous crown of airy foam. A tantalizing aroma of freshly baked bread, roasted grain and green apples rises from the white splendor. A touch of smoke enhances the aroma and makes you look forward to the first sip. This presents a medium body with subtly balanced aromas. Soft notes of pale malt, crunchy bread crust, spicy yeast and subtly fruity hops caress the palate. The delicate smoky aroma rounds off the taste perfectly.
Mildly malty in taste, Aecht Schlenkerla Hell is the perfect accompaniment to a rustic Franconian snack or a cozy evening with friends. If you are looking for variety in the world of pale beers and still want a pleasantly drinkable beer, Aecht Schlenkerla Hell is definitely the right choice.
