A few years ago, we had the great fortune to visit an Indian tribe in the Amazon rainforest. When a tropical storm came up in the evening, they invited us to spend the night with them. In addition to fascinating rituals, rousing dances and traditional drinks, we were also allowed to taste a very special fruit called cupuaçu. Immediately afterwards, I pulled a bottle of vodka out of my backpack and we mixed ourselves refreshing cupuaçu drinks. Even the locals enjoyed the taste. Back home, the trip felt so extraordinary that my friends encouraged me to create "tropical vodkas" with exotic Brazilian fruits. That's how I started my mission as destilHERO.
