More information about Embers
Rye River's latest creation is called Embers and is inspired by the historic Grodziskie beer style This Polish specialty is a type of wheat beer made with grain smoked in oak wood Traditionally, only wheat malt is used, which gives the brew a wonderfully smoky taste Because beers of this style are light-footed, crisp and sparkling carbonated, Because beers of this style are light, crisp and sparkling carbonated, they are known as the champagne of Poland In keeping with this nickname, the Irish brewery has bottled its interpretation in fine champagne bottles However, before the brew was given its chic robe, it was aged for six months in barrels that previously held Tequlia of the Añejo variety This intermediate step softens the original aroma of the beer, deepens its sweetness and enriches the flavor profile with notes of citrus fruit, vanilla, raisins and earthy wood
Like its historical role model, Embers is also brewed with wheat malt smoked over oak wood smoke The so-called wheat wine flows into the glass in a shimmering ruby-red honey hue and is crowned with a fleeting veil of ivory-colored foam A powerful potpourri of warm spices, brown speckled banana, clove, yeast and ripe fruit rises to the nose, the first sip follows with a similar repertoire: Sun-ripened wheat, oven-fresh banana bread, smoke and clove combine to create a full-bodied beer delight
Thanks to the large bottle, this delicacy is perfect for sharing and tasting together!
