In 1395, the oldest ancestors of today's Fassbind family settled in the beautiful region of Urschweiz and began to cultivate wild cherry trees. Thanks to the knowledge of alchemy practiced in many monasteries, they were soon able to produce an excellent distillate: KIRSCH. Kirsch is made from juicy, fully ripe cherries and is still a national specialty of Switzerland.

In 1846, at the age of 17, Gottfried Fassbind II founded the "Godefroi Fassbind, jeune, Distillerie de Kirschwasser" in Oberarth in the canton of Schwyz, which gives its name to the whole country of "Switzerland". This was the beginning of a successful history of the oldest distillery in Switzerland, which has already been honored with numerous awards during its long existence. Recent awards confirm both the unusually high quality of its products and its innovative thinking.

In 2021, the company celebrated its 175th birthday and has always been known for its fine fruit brandies, spirits and liqueurs made from Swiss fruits. However, Fassbind has not grown tired, but has proven that it is setting new standards for exquisite fruit spirits by expanding and renewing its range. Fassbind looks forward to the next 175 years with dynamism and joyful anticipation.
