More information about Frege® Carbon
The house beer of the Bierothek® Leipzig is a wonderfully dark coffee stout that takes its name Frege Kohlenstoff from the so-called Fregehaus in Leipzig The venerable building was built in the 16th century, later baroqueized and over the years housed a merchant family, a private bank, a trading company and the Leipzig monument preservation Today, a hotel and the Leipziger Bierothek® are located in the baroque townhouse
The second part of the name refers to the special ingredient that makes the stout a coffee stout: coffee Black as night, the beer has truly earned the title "carbon" The coffee used comes from a Leipzig roasting plant and is brewed in the form of roasted beans It not only gives the beer its name, but also the wonderfully dark color and a palette of delicious coffee and roasted notes
The Frege carbon flows into the glass in a deep black mahogany color as expected and forms a beautiful, slightly tinted head A fabulous aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans rises from the steadfast foam, caramelized malt and melt-in-the-mouth chocolate The first sip reveals a full-bodied beer with tingling carbon dioxide and a cornucopia of dark aromas A strong roasted malt note caresses the palate, fine chocolate notes contribute a soft sweetness The coffee gives the beer a fruity tartness and a delicate bitterness The finish is subtly balanced and tastes strongly of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee
A delicious coffee stout that you absolutely have to try!
