More information about Stone Brewing Xocoveza
This beer makes your mouth water just by reading the list of ingredients: In addition to the usual suspects, the label includes cocoa, coffee, chili, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. This promising blend results in an extremely successful winter beer, for which the spicy Mexican drinking chocolate served as inspiration. The hot chocolate from Mexico has little in common with the sweet, bland drink from Germany. A whole range of exciting spices are added to the drink, which is made with real chocolate, giving the soul-soothing drink a warming fire.
Xocoveza flows thickly and richly into the glass and shines in the color of strong coffee. The dark beer is topped with a hazelnut brown foam and has a wonderfully intense aroma of mocha, freshly grated nutmeg, cinnamon and melt-in-the-mouth chocolate. The spicy, creamy aroma invites you to take your first sip. A full-bodied note of dark chocolate reaches the palate first, closely followed by an intense load of spice. Nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla are accompanied by the delicately roasted taste of coffee. A wonderful bitterness complements the soft sweetness, while the chili gives the composition a spicy kick.
Incidentally, this beer was created in collaboration with homebrewer Chris Banker, who won Stone's annual competition for best homebrewer. To bring a breath of fresh air into its range and give young talent a chance, Stone Brewery holds an annual competition to find exceptional young talent. With the help of the homebrewers, Stone's brewers preserve their own roots and bring completely new ideas into their brewery.

Steve Wagner, Stone Brewing's very first brewmaster, gained his first brewing experience in his own kitchen, and it was a twist of fate when he met Greg Koch in 1989. A beer revolution The two beer aficionados drank countless bottles of beer together while making wild plans. One of those plans, to start their own brewery, persisted. Steve and Greg had planned a revolution: Their goal was to free America from the shackles of industrially brewed mass-produced beers - To move away from standard beers and turn to beery works of art from creative minds and bold craft brewers. In 1996, the time had come and the first keg of Stone Brewing's own production was sold. With this step, the two brewers are not only considered legends in the craft beer scene, but...
