More information about Giovannoni Vermouth Seco
Giovannoni Vermouth is the new creation of Argentina's best-known mixologist, Renato "Tato" Giovannoni, owner and bar manager of Bar Florería Atlantico in Buenos Aires, which is regularly confirmed as the best bar in Latin America and voted among the world's 50 best bars by the Drinks International expert jury.
After Principe de los Apostoles Mate Gin, with which he has already captured the most typical flavors of Argentina in a spirit, vermouth was the clear next step to have a perfect mixing partner for cocktails.
Himself the son of Italian immigrants to Argentina, however, the aperitivo culture is also a part of "Tato" and so the vermouth is not only perfect for mixing with Apóstoles Gin, but also simply neat and on ice as an aperitif - the appetizing glass before a meal.
Giovannoni Vermouth Seco is made on the basis of a white wine from Torrontés grapes, which is flavored with the obligatory wormwood herb (Artemisia absinthium) and other indigenous herbs and spices. By the way, the Torrontés grapes are selected by the Argentine star winemaker Matías Michelini.
This first version has only 23.3g of residual sweetness per liter, making it "extra dry" and a real rarity in market segments where there is often no indication of sugar content at all and values of well over 150g per liter are not uncommon. Since the herbs and spices are only mechanically filtered from the vermouth, the vermouth has a slight cloudiness.
Those who do not drink the bottle immediately after opening should store it in a cool and dark place to preserve the aroma and flavor as best as possible.
