Nyborg Distillery was awarded the Danish Whsky Award as "DISTILLERY OF THE YEAR" in 2025.
This is a unique single malt matured only in Danish oak.
Matured in Danish oak casks from Funen of the Quercus Robur type, called Stem Oak or Common Oak in Danish. For us, Isle of Fionia Danish Oak is not just a whisky. It is a child of the heart, a testament to the fantastic transformations that both cask and whisky must undergo to create something as wonderful as our Isle of Fionia Danish Oak.
The oak casks used for Danish Oak are made from oak from the Erholm estate on Funen. The oak not only gives the whisky a fantastic taste, but also tells a story about how the journey of this whisky began in the late 1800s, when an acorn was sown around the Erholm estate and then grew into a large, beautiful oak tree that was eventually turned into our casks.
