More information about Kirk and Sweeney Reserva Rum
The rum is made from molasses. Before it is bottled in onion bottles, it is stored for several years in American oak barrels. The rum has its name from a sailing ship named "Kirk and Sweeney" which served in the early days of Prohibition as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the northeast of the United States. On the bottle is an imprint of the smuggling routes.
