More information about Kirk and Sweeney Reserva Rum
The rum is made from molasses. Before it is bottled in onion bottles, it is stored for several years in American oak barrels. The rum takes its name from a sailing ship called "Kirk and Sweeney" which served as a smuggling ship for rum between the Caribbean and the north-east of the USA in the early days of Prohibition. The smuggling routes are printed on the bottle.
