Dolcetto was the original everyday wine in Piedmont, when locals used Nebbiolo only for special occasions. Noticeably berryier and with fewer tannins than its more popular brother, Dolcetto is a great wine for a relaxed lunch in between. While the grape's name suggests a rather sweet taste, this is a very dry and lean red wine, reminiscent of a dance in a wild garden.
