Kreativbrauerei Kehrwieder has dusted off the prize for the best non-alcoholic beer of the year at the Meininger's International Craft Beer Award 2020 The popular non-alcoholic Road Runner made it onto the winners' podium, impressing both the audience and the judges with its delicious roasted aromas and a good portion of coffee

Road Runner is a non-alcoholic coffee stout brewed with highly aromatic coffee beans The delicious beans are imported directly from the coffee farmer and then roasted in a Hamburg roastery They give the beer its fine roasted character, which is further enhanced by the addition of roasted barley

The Road Runner flows into the glass in a deep brown coffee hue and is adorned with a crown of lightly tinted foam The appearance and aroma already indicate that this beer is all about coffee: a strong note of freshly roasted coffee beans meets roasted malt and a hint of chocolate on the nose The first sip is, as expected, coffee-oriented: The crisp roasted aromas of an espresso mingle on the palate with notes of toffee, candied plums, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate and cocoa The sweetness of the malt forms a delicious symbiosis with the roasty bitterness of the coffee, and the finish is accordingly bitter and sweet at the same time Perfect
