L'Avenir Single Block Pinotage 2019 - Red Wine

It is the best the winery has to offer: the L'Avenir Single Block Pinotage. The grapes come from a single vineyard from the highest vineyard of the estate and only the best fourteen barrels were selected for the expressive red wine from South Africa's national grape - and you can smell and taste it. A wonderful composition of dried cranberries and violets, paired with a hint of dark chocolate, gives the bouquet a wonderful richness of facets already. On the palate, the red wine impressively demonstrates its first-class nature: aromas of fresh cherries are underpinned by sweet spices and well-integrated oak notes, and the rich texture makes for a terrific mouthfeel. A complex and elegant red wine like the L'Avenir Single Block Pinotage is an excellent choice with dark meat in a fruity sauce, but duck can also be combined with the wine quite wonderfully.
