The good Mönchsambacher from the Zehendner brewery is a true legend in the Bamberg area. Everyone knows and loves the down-to-earth lager with its unmistakable taste and honest, round character. But Mönchsambacher is no longer just drunk around the cathedral city; its good reputation has preceded it and brought it international popularity.

No wonder, because we hardly know of any other lager that is as balanced and drinkable as this excellent Franconian.

The Mönchsambacher Lager presents itself in a wonderfully naturally cloudy sunny yellow in the glass and has a stately, snow-white head. A strong aroma of freshly baked bread, herbal hops and roasted malt tempts you to take your first sip. This reveals a full-bodied beer with a fine, soft texture and a great balance between hops and malt. The latter reaches the palate first and delights the taste buds with a composition of creamy caramel, sweet grain and hearty sourdough bread. The hops join in and contribute a wonderfully juicy palette of the finest notes, ranging from freshly mown grass to spicy herbs and a hint of summer flower meadow. A tangy bitterness adds the icing on the cake to the interplay of aromas and rounds off the balanced taste experience perfectly. The finish is to the point and impresses with a clean bitterness and a perfectly balanced sweetness.
