More information about Morgenster Lourens River Valley 2014
The ruby red color of Morgenster Lourens River Valley is so dark that it is almost opaque. The red wine made of Merlot (39%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Cabernet Franc (16%) and Petit Verdot (10%) is just as expressive on the nose. The wonderful scent of strawberries, dark and red cherries and cassis pours into the nose. Aromas of plums, raspberries and mulberries continue to develop over time. Earthy tones as well as light nuances of licorice, sweet cinnamon and vanilla skillfully underline the fruity notes. Elegant tannins and the silky soft mouthfeel are in beautiful harmony with the sweet fruit nuances on the palate. The approachable red wine cuvée is a pleasure on its own, but the Morgenster Lourens River Valley is also a versatile food companion that pairs well with aromatic dark meat dishes. Poultry, duck or mushroom risotto are also good choices with the red wine.
