More information about Muratie Ben Prins Cape Vintage 2018
The Muratie Ben Prins Cape Vintage is a tribute to the estate's former winemaker, Ben Prins, who was as unique as the wines he created - this is also true of this blend of Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roritz, Tinta Francesca and Souzao grapes, all growing in the same vineyard planted in 1977 - so the grapes come from vines over 40 years old. The floral scent of violets and roses pours into the nose, flanked by Christmas spices. Each sip tells of the rich character of the dessert wine, while notes of cherries, dark chocolate and hazelnuts caress the palate. Nuances of tobacco and truffles set great accents in this multilayered play of aromas. Powerful and at the same time harmoniously balanced, the Muratie Ben Prins Cape Vintage, which matured for three years in barrique, provides pleasurable moments that will not soon be forgotten.
