News from Nuremberg!
An IPA in the Left Coast aka West Coast style is now enriching the range of the Nuremberg micro-brewery New Beer Generation. The guys, who actually come from the United States, are true hop-heads and brew fine, hoppy delicacies.
The IPA from New Beer Generation, NBG for short, flows into the glass in a slightly cloudy, dark amber hue and forms a stately, slightly tinted head. A fine hop aroma rises from the creamy, fine-pored foam, which smells both florally hoppy and enticingly fruity. The mango stands out most prominently, which together with other tropical fruits creates an olfactory seduction. The first sip reveals a hop-intensive IPA with a decent bitterness and refreshing fruit. The carbonic acid makes the aromas of exotic fruits dance on the tongue and presents the hops used at their best. Juicy mango, tropical passion fruit and ripe plums caress the palate, with a soft bed of malt underneath the fresh fruit. The complex body is juicy, fresh, malty and crisply bitter at the same time - just as we expect from a good IPA.
The brewers at NBG combine the best of two worlds: Franconian down-to-earthness and American hop artistry. Their IPA is hoppy, complex and simply drinkable!
