No 410 Indonesian peanut spirit

The well-known English name of the peanut "peanut" - literally "pea nut" - already indicates its relationship to peas. Although the name might suggest it, the peanut is not a nut, but belongs to the papilionaceous family and is therefore a legume. For this reason, peanuts are more closely related to peas and beans than to nuts. The relationship can be recognized by the fact that peanuts do not have a hard shell, but ripen in a pod.

We have very deliberately selected the wild organic peanuts in raw food quality, which we source 100% natural, i.e. unroasted and unsalted from Indonesia, because they have a more original taste than the roasted peanut kernels from the supermarket. It is a wild variety that is grown by small farmers on half a hectare of land in mixed cultures according to organic standards, so that no pesticides are necessary. All work steps are carried out by hand. The organic peanut kernels are harvested twice a year, dried in their shells in a special process and then cracked. The valuable red-brown striped seed coat remains largely intact.

To enhance the taste of these pure, wild peanuts for the spirit, we have gently roasted them in our factory, removed the seed coats and then extracted and distilled them with our mild neutral alcohol. The result is freshly roasted peanut flavor pure in the glass, which comes mainly from 2-methyl-3-furanthiol with a roasted and meaty note and 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline and 2-propionyl-1-pyrroline with a popcorn-like note.
