No 960 Apothecary's Limoncello

Freshly harvested organic lemons from the Sorrento coast of Amalfi are the secret of this delicious limoncello. Contrary to popular belief, no lemon juice is used for its production, but only the very finely peeled peel of the lemon, to which as little albedo (the white under the peel) as possible adheres, as this contains too many bitter substances. The peel, extracted for several weeks with our particularly mild neutral alcohol, is finally rounded off with sugar syrup so finely that the sweetness and lemon aroma harmonize perfectly on the palate.

If you want to enjoy limoncello in true Italian style, you can do so as an aperitif or digestif, whereby both the drinking glass covered with a layer of ice (e.g. champagne glass) and the limoncello come from the freezer. Enjoy ice-cold in small sips and exhale through the nose, allowing the aroma and aftertaste to unfold best. But avanti, avanti, drink the limoncello before it gets too warm! Although we recommend this way of enjoying it, our limoncello is also sinfully good in cocktails or with desserts.
