More information about DO-RI-N-KU
Asia is a source of inspiration for many: The continent is incredibly diverse and is home to a multitude of unique cultures and landscapes. The team at Dutch brewery Oedipus also looks to Asia with longing and is only too happy to be inspired by the colors and shapes, tastes and smells, minimalism, aesthetics and attitude to life there.
The fruit of her admiration is Do-Ri-N-Ku, an unconventional brew with less than 0.5% alcohol and a citrus-fresh character. The drink is based on sodas and lemonades, but is brewed like a conventional beer and is considered a completely new category by its makers. In addition to barley and wheat malt, Cascade, Citra and Mosaic hops, the list of ingredients includes orange and lemon peel and lactose.
The award-winning creation flows into the glass in almost clear pale gold and is adorned with a fleeting hint of foam. The aroma of freshly grated citrus zest wafts into the nose and promises refreshing enjoyment. The first sip follows on the heels and keeps the olfactory promise: Light-footed and tangy notes of lemon, orange and homemade lemonade tingle on the tongue. The hops contribute a delicate bitterness that perfectly complements the fruity acidity and mild sweetness.
Do-Ri-N-Ku combines Asian restraint with lemony freshness and elegant effervescence. Fine!
