For this gin, Pegelturm founder Umut Eskiocak collected and continued to collect until he had 100 bottles from different producers. Why no new bottles? According to waste management statistics, the consumption of glass packaging in Germany in 2018 was around 2.9 million tons. These bottles were cleaned and given a new life with the upcycled gin. Minimalist design, with artwork by Anastasia Koßobutzki made from grass paper and a plastic-free bottle cap.
The botanicals also speak their own language: mango, calamari leaves and tonka bean, among others, make Upcycle Gin unique! Obsthof Birkenbeil distils gin on behalf of Pegelturm using only green electricity, with great care and attention to detail. Accordingly, it has already received numerous chamber award coins from the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture, nine times gold in the 2020 award alone.

A thank you to Neuwied, from Umut Eskiocak, a passionate restaurateur: nuances of fiery chili pepper meet sweet vanilla bean and a hint of spicy turmeric. These wonderful botanicals and many more are transformed into an unadulterated London Dry Gin at the Obsthof Birkenbeil distillery. The distillery in Neuwied / Heimbach-Weis burns exclusively with green electricity, high care and attention to detail. Accordingly, there have already been numerous chamber prize coins of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture, at the 2020 award alone nine times gold. But this gin has its own story.
