Podere Il Carnasciale

The world famous wine Il Caberlot is bottled only in magnum bottles and comes from the Podere Il Carnasciale winery.

Mr. Wolf D. Rogosky, founder of Il Carnasciale, would be very proud of his work today. As a career changer and passionate wine lover, he formulated his very own demand for the ideal wine: powerful, concentrated and long-lived it should be.

At that time, the nursery near Piacenza had a natural cross between the two varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The blend of the two grape varieties, which was exactly what the winemaker had in mind, developed into the first "Il Caberlot" - a word compound of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - on his 0.3 hectares in 1988.

Even after the unexpected death of its founder in 1996, the winery continues to be run with the same dedication and passion by his wife Bettina and their two sons. Although the vineyard area has grown since then, the coveted magnum bottles remain a rarity.
