Polmos Szczecin
Polmos (acronym for Polski Monopol Spirytusowy, Polish Spirits Monopoly) was a Polish state monopoly that controlled the Polish market for alcoholic beverages. Founded in the late 1920s, it was one of the leading vodka producers in Poland until World War II. One of the offshoots of this former state-owned company is Polmos Szczecin. Today, Polmos S.A. Szczecin Vodka Factory specializes in the production of natural vodka. The spacious cellars and the appropriate climate that prevails in them prove favorable for alcohols that require long maturation. Therefore, the assortment of the company includes such spirits as Starka. The youngest matures at least 10 years, the oldest matures 50 years (whisky from the original Scottish distillate) on site in the Szczecin cellars.
