More information about Rhein-Sieg Whisky Rebuilt Scotch Cask
This whisky is matured in an ex-Scotch cask made from three different former Scotch casks - a so-called rebuilt cask. It perfectly combines the young freshness of the whisky from the Rhineland with the captured aromas of Scotland in the pre-matured cask.
The aroma is subtly fruity and then offers a surprising sweetness on the palate, paired with a pleasantly warming spiciness and spice. The finish is long and also warming, with impressions of liquorice emerging.
This "boy" really has pep and knows how to please. Like its predecessor from the Virgin Oak Cask, bottled without added color and (cooling) filtration (may contain barrel particles).
Give the whisky a moment in the glass to allow all facets of its character to unfold.

At some point, the basic desired composition was found and we turned to Frank Ginsberg, who was to become the distiller of our juniper. Together with him, the recipe got a final polish and since summer 2018 we now produce small batches of about 300 bottles with 44% Vol. We want to remain familiar and at the base and still deliver quality.
