Mallet & Iron Single Malt Whisky

Discover the unique taste of the single malt matured in German oak casks, which is our first variety to bear the name of our storage location.

The 200-year-old wood, which has been burnt extra hard, gives this whisky its deep brown color and a beautiful sweetness, which is accompanied by a subtle hint of beechwood smoke. May it be a "bright light in the night" for you and give you as much pleasure as it gives us.

You will receive one 0.7l bottle at drinking strength (45.4%).

Further information

The distillate comes from the oldest whisky distillery in Germany, which is only 40 km away from the colliery. This single malt, single cask whisky is stored for three years in new 225-liter German oak barrels and is well protected in the old machine hall of the Schlägel & Eisen colliery in Herten. Walls approximately one meter thick, low temperature fluctuations and absolute darkness provide the best conditions for our whisky.

Tasting notes

Smell and taste are of course subjective, which is why we have created the tasting notes together with customers and experts, but they may of course be different for you.

Nose: fresh oak notes, mild honey sweetness, dark ripe fruit with nutmeg and cinnamon

Taste: strong attack, followed by creamy sweetness, spicy heather and a clear woody note

Finish: medium length, strong aromatic oak, followed by a hint of roasted hazelnuts
