More information about Bready Rye Ale
The exceptional Lithuanian brewery Sakiškių alus is known for its wacky creations: Its range includes beer with beetroot, beer that tastes like gin and tonic and all kinds of other creative madness So it's no wonder that its latest project is also far removed from the boundaries of the Bavarian Purity Law The chosen aim of the experiment was to create a beer that resembles oven-fresh rye bread as closely as possible
In fact, the resourceful brewers succeeded: Their Bready Rye Ale is a chestnut-colored beer that not only smells heavenly like bread crust baked in a stone oven, but also tastes exactly like it In order to transport the full bread character into the beer, the brewers took a whole range of measures: In addition to the usual portion of malts and specialty malts, they also used malted rye and fermented rye malt The rye crown is topped off with a few loaves of rye bread dried in a fire oven The result is a true rye bomb and its taste is reminiscent of a specialty from the Baltic region: Kvass is a sour drink created by the fermentation of bread The Bready Rye Ale is a subtly balanced masterpiece that combines great bread aromas with a subtle acidity, a fine spiciness, beautiful bitterness and a soft sweetness The hops skillfully round off the malty predominance and give the liquid bread a crisp freshness
The perfect accompaniment to your next snack!
