1229 Waldschnaps LIKÖR 0.5l (25%Vol.) - Noble sloe liqueur - refined with rum - made from selected and hand-picked local sloes. The fruits are ripe in early fall, but are only harvested by us after the first frost. Before that, they contain too many tannins and are practically inedible. When the sloes are properly frozen, they are processed into our popular sloe liqueur and refined with fine rum.
Sloes, also known as blackthorn, blackthorn or heckendorn, are the mother of all plums. It thrives particularly well on our sandy, stony clay soils.
We dedicate our forest liqueur made from sloes to the squirrel(Sciurus). Squirrels are forest dwellers, occur in large numbers on our estate and feed primarily on seeds and fruit, including our sloes. As tree dwellers, they are very good climbers and most species spend most of their time in the trees, only occasionally coming down to the ground to forage.
We, the Schwechow fruit distillery, are a partner of the UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve. We work in harmony with nature. Our products and services stand for quality, environmental friendliness and regionality. We support our partner's projects with part of the income from the sale of Waldschnaps products.

Schwechow fruit distillery
Schwechow Manor is a historic estate built in 1229, which today houses the Schwechow Fruit Distillery. The distillery produces fine fruit brandies, spirits, liqueurs and gin and is located in the heart of the Mecklenburg Elbe Valley Nature Park. The distillery originally dates back to the 18th century. Today, high-quality spirits are produced here under the motto "Preserve tradition, shape the future", including many in limited editions. Our fruit brandies, spirits and liqueurs are made from the best and most aromatic fruit. The estate's lovingly restored former pigeon house houses Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's first fruit capper distillery. Our high-quality Platinum products in mouth-blown glass decanters round off our premium range.
