Moin light sailors,
"El Padre" was the name of a rum smuggler I once knew. He always reserved a barrel of his best rum for me. I created this "Spiced Rum" with his name in his honor.
Most of the rum used comes from the heart of Central America and the Dominican Republic. Its taste is fruity and complex at the same time. Aromas of banana, coconut, peach and orange set the tone on the tongue.
In the glass, "El Padre" shimmers in a strong amber color. Perfect as a pure pleasure on ice. But enough of the sailor's yarn - raise your glass and drink with me to "El Padre" and its legend.

Hello, you light sailors! On this cutter they call me "Iron Gustav". I am the Smutje. The master of the galley. The rough sea has been my home for 50 years. As a boy I wanted to see the world and sailed across the pond. Today, a handful of water under my keel, a stiff breeze around my nose and my home in sight is enough for me.
