More information about Snowy owl August Bockbier
The name August Borsig is probably familiar to the Berliners among you, but we would like to introduce the gentleman to everyone else. Johann Friedrich August Borsig is the namesake of a very special beer specialty from Schneeeule. Born in Breslau, he also founded the Borsig factories in Berlin, which today house the hallowed halls of the Schneeeule brewery.
But now to Mr. Borsig's beery cousin: August is a dark bock beer with a pleasant 6.5% alcohol content and the acidity so typical of Berlin beers. In Schneeeule's wide range of different Berliner Weisse beers, August is a delicious exception, even if it has adapted its repertoire of sour flavors to its colleagues.
August has a wonderful copper-colored mahogany hue in the glass and is topped with a small handful of hazelnut-brown foam. A wonderful aroma of summer fruits, wild berries and sour, still unripe plums tickles the nose. The first sip is full-bodied and wonderfully tart: notes of heavy, dark grapes, roasted, caramel malt and sweet wild berries meet a crisp acidity reminiscent of fine balsamic vinegar and champagne. The bock is unusually light-footed and sparkles wonderfully fresh on the tongue thanks to its tangy carbon dioxide.
A truly exceptional bock that you should definitely try!

Snowy Owl
Berliner Weisse is Ulrike Genz's favorite beer and the reason she started brewing in the first place. As a Berliner, it was and still is her desire to give good, traditional beer back to her hometown. With a lot of heart and craft, she has built up the Schneeeule label and brews wonderfully refreshing beer in a one-woman process and fine creations like Schampus Weiß Vintage, which was created in cooperation with Bayerischer Bahnhof and Freigeist Bierkultur. Snowy Owl Ulrike came up with these unusual names while taking a closer look at the Berliner Weisse: Crowned by white foam, the beer shines in bright light yellow. Yellow and white are also the dominant colors of the snowy owl, yellow eyes on white feathers. Ulrike also liked the three consecutive E's in the name, an eye-catcher, just like the monochrome labels with the large owl spreading its wings. Extraordinary is the name of...
