More information about Waterford Estate The Jem 2015
Waterford The Jem is the best that Waterford has to offer. This is already evident in the inviting bouquet, which combines notes of dark chocolate and plums with earthy tones, cloves, violets and dark and red berries. On the palate, the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), Shiraz (22%), Mourvèdre (9%), Petit Verdot (6%), Merlot (5%), Cabernet Franc (4%), Sangiovese (3%) and Barbera (3%) is also complex and well balanced. Velvety tannins and a great structure give a great mouthfeel to this elegant red wine, aged for 22 months in French oak, before leaving with a lingering finish. Incidentally, the cuvée owes its name to the owner of the estate, Jeremy Ord, who is also affectionately called Jem by family and friends. Enjoy the Waterford The Jem therefore best in special moments in the circle of family or with good friends or with exquisite dishes.
