More information about Weizenbock Dornfelder
In view of Franconia's splendid variety of beers, it is often forgotten that there is another beverage tradition in Franconia besides the cult drink beer The sunny slopes are ideal for growing wine and have ensured that Franconians have been drinking a variety of beverages for centuries
The traditional brewery Kundmüller from Weiher is located on one such vineyard The Wagner winery from Staffelbach grows the Dornfelder grape in Weiher and lives in peaceful coexistence with the brewers In order to unite the two traditional Franconian drinks, the Weiher brewers have joined forces with the Staffelbach winegrowers and created a beer, which, after maturing for eight months in wine barrels, creates a wonderful symbiosis of the two beverages After completion, the good Weiherer Weizenbock is filled into oak barrels in which the Dornfelder wine was previously allowed to mature The wooden barrel gives the beer an unmistakable character and complements it with a fine, tangy acidity and a fruity elegance
The Dornfelder wheat bock aged in wooden barrels flows into the glass in the color of golden caramel and is crowned by a white foam The copper-colored beer inspires with a strong nose of roasted grain, dried red fruits, ripe banana and finely spiced, red wine-soaked oak The first sip reveals a wonderful taste of good, dark wine, which combines with spicy vanilla, sweet roasted malt, rum raisins and creamy banana to create an absolute delicacy
An absolutely successful collaboration!
