Agalia: The taste of the land where lemons bloom

La vita è bella - life is beautiful. Especially in moments with agave brandy from Agalia in the glass. But the term "agave brandy" doesn't quite cover it. Because what the four founders of Agalia, David, Michele, Federico and Augusto, are serving here is not just a distillate made from the juice of the Sicilian ag ave (also known locally as zabbara ). Rather, it is a tribute to the home of these extraordinary plants, Sicily: In addition to the zabbara, the recipe includes botanicals such as the prickly pear, olive leaves, and the lemons verdello and interdonato. And Sicilian seawater must not be missing - this is used in steam distillation, a special distillation process. The result is a crystal clear ensemble of pleasant citrus notes, typical agave aromas and a long freshness on the finish.

Small side note: Each and every bottle of Agalia features a golden silk-screen print and a handmade tile designed by an artisan from Caltagirone with Agalia's colors (blue for the sea, yellow for the sun, green for the agave). The four founders obviously know: the eye also enjoys.

Nose: elegant agave and mild citrus notes, peppery-spicy.

Palate: agave, fresh citrus notes and a slight sweetness.

Mouthfeel: silky

Finish: long finish with fresh fruity components.
