More information about Alt
When the breweries Freigeist Bierkultur, Beer Kong and Olbermann met for collaboration purposes, it was clear that the planned beer could only be an Altbier This traditional beer style has been brewed there for centuries and is as much a part of the culture as Düsseldorf's old town or Heringsstipp Because the variety was decided so quickly, the brewers had a lot of time to refine their recipe They didn't want to reheat just any old beer, but to create a young, fresh and modern interpretation of the legend
The result is a hoppy Altbier with a wonderful smoky note that not only makes its creators happy
The creation is called Alt(es) Aus Liebe and has a pleasant 4.8% alcohol content The new Alt looks wonderfully dark in the glass: A chestnut brown color infused with copper glints fills the vessel and is crowned with a hand's breadth of lightly tinted foam The combined aroma of roasted malt, campfire, toffee, raisins, smoked ham and delicate citrus tones tempts you to try it The first sip and all subsequent ones surprise with a wonderful creaminess, The taste profile is composed of caramel, smoke, raisins, citrus and roasted malt A harmonious bitterness accompanies the enjoyment of the beer and concludes with a roasty, short finish
