More information about Alto Estate Red Blend 2017
The Alto Estate Blend flows into the glass in a dark red with violet hues. The complexity of the cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (20%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (3%) is already evident on the nose. Aromas of red and dark fruits pamper the senses and are surrounded by a hint of oak. The Alto Estate Blend is powerful, refined and elegant on the palate and lingers for a long time. The red wine matures for eighteen months in oak and is the perfect accompaniment to dark meat, hearty dishes and mature cheese. But the Alto Estate Blend is also a delight on its own.

ALTO Wine Estate
Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
