More information about Alto Rouge 2019
In a powerful shade of red, Alto Rouge shines in the glass. The wonderful aroma reveals aromas of red fruits accompanied by fynbos, a touch of cedar and undertones of mocha. Fresh fruit notes characterize the palate, especially cherry is very present. Light spicy and mineral nuances add the final touch to the blend of Cabernet Franc (32%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Merlot (15%), Shiraz (15%) and Petit Verdot (8%). Enjoy the elegant and balanced red wine with fine tannins best pure. Grilled chicken or beef, lamb or aged cheeses are also excellent choices with Alto Rouge, aged fourteen to sixteen months in French and American oak.

ALTO Wine Estate
Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
