The main protagonists in the Protagonista 2020 red wine cuvée are the three grape varieties Marselan, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. These were each fermented separately with wild yeast to produce three separate wines before being blended together to create the cuvée. The Protagonista from Antigua Bodega Stagnari was then matured in stainless steel tanks with minimal intervention and refined into a limited edition.
What does the Protagonista 2020 red wine cuvée taste like?
Marselán, Syrah and, above all, Cabernet Franc are elegant and surprisingly expressive in this cuvée. Lively, juicy and with a clear tannin and acidity level. Red fruits and blackcurrants come together on the nose and ensure that the Protagonista 2020 red wine cuvée delights the palate with color, fruit and plenty of volume.
