Antigua Bodega Stagnari

Antigua Bodega Stagnari is a traditional family business that has been involved in the cultivation and production of wines from Uruguay since 1928. The winery is located in the most important wine region of the country, Santos Lugares - Canelones and is managed by Virginia Stagnari.

But she is not the only one who contributes to the success of the company, her children Mariana and Carlo Young and Laura Casella are also great talents in the wine world and bring a breath of fresh air to the bodega. Their commitment has allowed the winery to grow enormously in recent years, producing modern wines that captivate with finesse and charm.

The vineyards in Santos Lugares, La Paz are unique. They are surrounded by quarries and lie on sandy loam soil that is only one meter deep. Underneath is pink granite that is 500 to 600 million years old. This type of pink granite is found only in this region.

The Tannat and Merlot wines of Antigua Bodega are the result of the terroir concept: "inspiration of young talents, bedrock of pink granite, weather with great thermal amplitude and luminosity".
