Bonpland Rum Blanc

The rum was named after Humboldt's traveling companion and friend: Aime Bonpland was a French physician and naturalist who embarked on a voyage of discovery through America with Alexander von Humboldt in 1799. Aime Bonpland curiously discovered the Old and New Worlds.

The name Bonpland therefore fits perfectly to this rum: a rum that combines the exotic aroma of the Caribbean and fine German craftsmanship and noble German wine barrels, such as the Pinot Noir barrique barrels of the VDP winery Friedrich Becker from the Palatinate.

The Avadis distillery discovered in the Caribbean and South America, suitable rums for their Bonpland Blanc Rum. The blend from Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, Indonesia and Barbados matures for many years. Batavia Arak from Indonesia, made from sugar cane and red rice ash, rounds out this elegant blend and gives this rum a creamy, yet slightly spicy character.

The rum, which already comes barrel-aged from the countries of origin, matures in a second maturation process in German Chardonnay barrique wine barrels of the VDP winery Bernhard Huber in Baden. This gives the Bonpland Blanc Rum a buttery note. Bonpland Rum does not contain added sugar or colorants. In addition, this rum is bottled without cold filtration.
